Phase 1: Defining
The company describes the key issues concerning the functionality of the business. This is required to understand the business’ processes within the business. Based on this conversation, the implementation consultant creates documents containing information required to create an initial version of this application containing the company’s goals, operational issues and business rules. This document becomes an output for further work in the Project.
Phase 2: Designing
Based on the collected data in the previous phase, the consultant develops a preliminary version of the document. This phase also includes the collection and verification data necessary to properly reflect the process taking place in the company. After collecting data, the consultant uses them to test the previously created configuration.
Phase 3: Configuring
The advantage of Simatic IT Preactor is its configurability. It has the ability to easily add or remove data tables and/or individual fields. There is also a possibility to completely change the appearance and distribution of data in the system. According to the data collected in phase 2, the changes in the configuration are applied and the system is tested, using previously collected data. Part of this phase is to enable the end-user to work on the system. This enables the correct use of data and the approval of changes in the process of creating configuration due to better understanding of specifics of the enterprise and system requirements.
Phase 4: Testing/Approval of configuration/Training
The functionality of configuration is tested and approved in accordance with the requirements. If it is necessary, upon the request of the user, the minor changes are introduced. Upon completion of the testing and approval changes, training is carried out for future users of Simatic IT Preactor System, during which they become familiar with the made configuration.
Phase 5: Booting
In this phase booting of Simatic IT Preactor system occurs. Usually, before starting the system it is tested in practice, on real data (orders). This is usually done on a day where production is not being completed, so as not to disrupt the functioning of company and to be able to enter the required data into the system without unnecessary complications. The customer can run the Simatic IT Preactor system in parallel with the previously used method of scheduling, in order to shorten the period of start up.
Phase 6: Support during running of system
As a part of user’s support program, it is possible to introduce improvements in the configuration by the consultants implementing system and help with solving problems encountered during use of the system.
